Update:

I've also have the privilege of walking and mentoring the young worship leader at our church here locally. We've been meeting every week since last March. It's been amazing to watch how our journeys are so similar and yet watch them unfold in different ways. God has a story He's writing in each of us. They may look similar... yet they are unique to each of us. It's been amazing to seek the Lord in how to walk with this incredibly gifted and talented woman. To watch her seek Him and wrestle with EVERYTHING she does is simply amazing as the "spectator." I learn so much each and every time we are together and I'm so thankful for this new relationship and journey we are on together. I remember when an amazing woman, whom I named my daughter after, loved me enough to walk with me in this way. I was in complete awe of how she loved me so well... the mess I was... she LOVED completely. To this day I am BLOWN away by how well she knows me... just from the sound of my voice on the phone. It's like the Lord put see through glass around my heart so she is able to see right through me. It's THE MOST vulnerable place I've ever been in in a friendship... and yet SOOO refreshing, real and raw. It literally has changed my life. My prayer since has been 1) that I would never change that state of vulnerability (still working on this) :) 2) never take that relationship for granted and 3) that I would be able to GIVE away what I have been given. To see this prayer answered even in the smallest of ways is incredible. It's discipleship. It's what we are called to. I'm learning how to walk out that obedience.

We are praying about another trip to Africa this coming year. We have some amazing friends who have been asked to come serve in Rwanda for an extended amount of time this Fall/Winter. They have an incredible heart for serving and we would love to support them in their call however we can. We don't know exactly how this will look or how we can serve them, but we are excited to have the opportunity to serve them... as they have served diligently for years. They bless us greatly. Details to come!!!!!

Update:

First let me apologize for simply taking WAY too long to get my africa blog done.  I could list all the reasons it took nearly five months... but why... that's in the past.  :)  Thank you so much for being SO patient as I tried my best to capture as many amazing moments into one blog and match the pictures. :)  I KNOW for a fact that I have missed so many amazing things... as I've re-read I remember more and more.. and I just realized there is NO way I can get it all out on paper... try as I might.item1

Thank you again for your prayers and support!  I can't express my gratitude.  Without you this would NOT have happened.  The Lord worked out the details of this trip to Uganda in RECORD time... like ONLY HE could do.  It was INCREDIBLE to watch Him lead hearts to partner with us.  Within a few weeks of our support letter we had raised above and beyond what we needed... which meant I was able to financially HELP AFRICANS more.  SIMPLY incredible.  THANK YOU!!!!!!

I wanted to say one more quick thing before you click on the link below to read the blog... there are SOME incredible ministries we partnered with while in Africa.  If at ANY point while you read the blog you feel called to support one of these ministries.. in ANY way - prayer, financially, or physically visiting,  PLEASE don't hesitate to shoot me an email and I will help connect you with the right people.  Even if I didn't mention a name- but you see a picture... I'm sure I can connect you with someone who can give you more information. Africa is an INCREDIBLE place... with incredible need - the harvest is PLENTY while the workers are few!  I encourage you, if you feel your heart tug in a specific direction... follow it.  You won't regret it.

My hope is you get lost in the blog and find yourself connecting to the various places we went.... so take your time... read a day or two at a time... or don't.  :)

Enjoy...
